A SUPER FUN, VIRTUAL CAMP for kids and teens with bleeding disorders and their siblings.
With the pandemic continuing into 2021, it’s been difficult for us to decide between holding a virtual or in-person camp. The biggest concern is the health and safety of our campers and adult volunteers. The staff at OHSU is still not cleared to participate in an in-person event at Camp Tapawingo and we don’t know when that clearance will be given.
Knowing that we have a medically vulnerable population, it is not possible for us to hold an in-person week-long camp without the medical team. As a result, the decision was made to hold a virtual camp July 30, 31 and August 1. We will meet about 2 hours each of those days – Friday, July 30 starting at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 31 starting at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, August 1 starting at 6:30 p.m.
In advance of camp, all camper aged children (ages 7 – 16) with a bleeding disorder, even if you haven’t attended camp before, and siblings who have attended camp previously, will receive a “See you next year!” box. The box will have fun things to engage for virtual camp this year, some reminders of how great camp is and some things to bring back to camp next year in 2022. We are definitely planning an in-person camp in 2022 !
